Course Description

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to conduct wheeled front end loader operations.
This unit applies to those working in site- based roles.

Where equipment being assessed requires the fitting and removal of attachments to be demonstrated an integrated tool carrier unit should be used.

Entry Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Successfully complete the enrolment process including LLN assessment.
  • Nominate and have approved a suitable workplace to complete the course.
  • Have a minimum of 1 years’ experience operating a wheeled front end loader.

  • 1 Day Training & assessment with experience

Vocational Outcome

  • Plan and prepare for wheeled front end loader operations
  • Operate front end loader in line with established requirements
  • Attach, secure, lift, carry and place materials to complete work activity
  • Prepare to relocate the front end loader
  • Conduct housekeeping activities

Pathways

Students who successfully complete this unit of competency will be awarded a statement of attainment and wallet sized card. Employment pathways upon the completion of this unit of competency include possible job titles such as front end loader operator.

Students completing this unit of competency may decide to undertake additional studies such as RII30820- Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations.
